Tuesday November 24, 2020 Smile of the Day: The Origin of Species
On This Day:
Charles Darwin published “On the Origin of Species” (or, more completely, On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection), on 24 November 1859.
This book is a work of scientific literature by Charles Darwin which is considered to be the foundation of evolutionary biology. Darwin’s book introduced the scientific theory that populations evolve over the course of generations through a process of natural selection.
The book presented a body of evidence that the diversity of life arose by common descent through a branching pattern of evolution. Darwin included evidence that he had collected on the Beagle expedition in the 1830s and his subsequent findings from research, correspondence, and experimentation. (per Wikipedia)
First, a Story:
Biology is the only science in which multiplication is the same thing as division.
Second, a Song:
What else is more relevant that a music video on the evolution of music? Pentatonix’s a cappella video “The Evolution of Music” will have you tapping your foot and trying to recognize as many artists as possible in this high energy trip through the ages. Enjoy!

Thought for the Day:
“Ideas percolate. Through natural selection, the best ones survive.” – Andrew Lo
